Ithaca College graduate student Shira Pope has joined the Academic Enrichment Services (AES) staff for the 2008-9 academic year.

Shira is a graduate student studying sport psychology and is interested in exploring academic support services.

She comes to us from the University of Oregon where she earned her degree in psychology with a minor in anthropology. She's been a research assistant, and is currently a student proctor for our disabilities services office.

Shira will be working with us from seven to ten hours per week depending on our needs and her schedule.

She will work with Amanda Lippincott on a new initiatives project. She will also shadow Trena Haffenden and Amanda for a while as she observes tutoring and academic counseling and advising interactions.

Later in the academic year, Shira will be seeing students on her own; facilitating success workshops; and assisting me with a research activity.

This is a very exciting opportunity for AES! Welcome aboard Shira!
