As of Tuesday, October 28, there's only one week to go before the November 4 presidential election. Mark your calendars for these exciting election week events!

On Tuesday, October 28, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Clark Lounge, come hear the winning presentations in the Perialis Prize for Public Speaking contest. The winning students will present their prize-winning oration. Congratulations to Joseph Gage '11 who spoke for Barack Obama and Shanan Glandz '09 who spoke for John McCain.

Other events for election week include a presentation by associate professor and chair of the Department of Strategic Communication, Steven Seidman. His presentation, "Posters, Propaganda, and Persuasion in Election Campaigns," will be given as a faculty keynote address during Family Weekend, but this presentation is open to the entire campus community. Seidman's lecture takes place Friday, October 31, at 4:30 p.m. in Klingenstein Lounge.

You will also see many Intercom announcements reminding you of various steps you need to take to successfully cast your ballot on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, November 4, you won't want to miss the "Parade to the Polls." Fifes and Drums of Ithaca will lead interested participants through the academic quad on their way to the Circles Community Room, which is the local polling location for Ithaca College and the surrounding area.

What better way to vote for president for the first time than by being serenaded by the colonial music of a fife and drum troupe? Come join the parade even if you're not voting at this location. We'll also have vans transporting students from main campus to the Circles and back.

An election results viewing party is also in the works. Stay tuned to Intercom for more information.
