Tamar Mackay '10 and Karolena Greenidge '10 finished first and second place, respectively, at Suffolk University's Fall Classic Forensics Tournament.
On October 25, Ithaca College's speech and debate team traveled to Boston to compete in a forensics tournament at Suffolk University. The tournament was widely attended -- 11 schools, including Harvard and Howard, entered the competition. Mackay and Greenidge closed out the competition in the dramatic interpretation event. Both students also competed in dramatic duo, and Mackay entered prose interpretation as well.
The success at Suffolk comes on the heels of an exemplary performance at the team's first tournament, held October 11 at Shepard University in West Virginia. At this tournament the debaters turned in a noteworthy performance, with Heike Domine and Catherine Razavi finishing fourth and fifth place, respectively.
What's most encouraging about the season thus far is the relative inexperience of the team's members. Razavi and Domine attended their very first tournament ever at Shepard and Mackay and Greenidge are only in their second semester of competition.
