$1,500 Scholarship for Female Music Students

Sigma Alpha Iota, an international, professional music fraternity for women, annual gives out the $1,500 Messersmith Scholarship to a female music major who demonstrates financial need and is not a member of or pledging membership to any other music fraternity or sorority

Female music majors not involved in any music fraternity or sorority may apply. Undergraduate students must have completed 30 credits, having taken 15 credits every semester she has been enrolled at Ithaca College. Graduate students must have completed 9 graduate credits.

To apply, each applicant must submit a letter of application explaining why she deserves the scholarship. The student identification number must be included in the letter. Each letter of application must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation for the major applied teacher and from an additional member of the Ithaca College faculty.

Applications are due by November 21, 2008, at 5pm. Application packets should be addressed to Natalie Hernandez-Pachon, Treasurer, and can be placed in the Sigma Alpha Iota mailbox on the first floor of the James J. Whalen School of Music.
