Faculty: Time Is Running Out for WebCT Course Migration!

11/11/08

Contributed by Kathy Barbieri

As you know, Blackboard is the new online courseware system replacing WebCT. For those faculty members still using WebCT, please read this important information.

The WebCT server and all WebCT courses will be unavailable after Jan. 11, 2009. In order to help you with the transition from WebCT to Blackboard, ITS will migrate your WebCT course(s) for you if you fill out the request form by Dec. 5, 2008.

Before we can migrate the course content, you will first need to create a course shell in Blackboard. Instructions are available on the Blackboard support page under the Frequently Asked Questions section. Once you activate your course and submit the request form, ITS will migrate your course(s) for you and notify you by email.

If you need to learn about Blackboard, drop in support is available in the Center for Educational Technology, 104 Muller Center and workshops are offered on a regular basis to help with this transition. If you have any questions please contact Kathy Barbieri, [mailto:kbarbieri@ithaca.edu].
