The African-Latino Society invites you to join us in our annual celebration of Hip-Hop History Month. This year we are focusing on the State of Hip Hop: The Past, Present, and Future.
This event will be educational as well as entertaining. We plan to discuss the goals originally set by Hip-Hop pioneers when Hip-Hop first began. We will examine whether these goals are presently met. At the end of this event, the audience will leave knowing that Hip-Hop is not just about fresh beats and mind-boggling rhymes, it is a movement about FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION!
This event will cover different aspects of Hip-Hop including art, a documentary, performances, and a panel discussion. Our guests include IC Breakers, members of Spit That!, IC’s very own Dr. Sean Eversley-Bradwell, Journalist and speaker Michaela Angela Davis, and upcoming rappers Charles Hamilton and MYNORiTY.
