Carnegie Junior Fellow Applications Due December 15

Interested in international issues, including climate change, economies, or communication? Apply to serve in a paid, full-time, one-year position in Washington, D.C., with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Junior Fellows program.

Each year the endowment selects 8 to 10 graduating seniors (or alumni of less than one year who have not yet enrolled in graduate coursework) to serve as research assistants in Washington, D.C.

Projects for 2009-10 include: Democracy/rule of law, Middle East studies, nonproliferation, South Asian studies, energy and climate change, Chinese studies, Chinese economics, trade/equity and development, Russian/Eurasian studies, Central Asian studies, international economics, U.S. role in the world, communications.

Applications are due to the Office of Career Services by Monday, December 15, at 5:00 p.m. Ithaca College's nominating official and committee will select up to two candidates whose materials will then be submitted to the Carnegie Endowment for its selection process.

A complete application includes:

  1. Application form (available in Career Services)
  2. Essay on why the student would like to become a junior fellow
  3. Resume
  4. Two recommendations
  5. Transcript of undergraduate record (unofficial is acceptable)
  6. Substantive essay
