Jeff Houck, Ph.D., PT, and colleague, Chris Neville, Ph.D., PT, were invited to present three topics at the national Pedorthic Foot Association meeting in Nashville, Tennessee.
The topics included, Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction: Mechanisms to Interventions, Midfoot Arthritis: Optimizing Care and Kinematic Modeling: What does it tell us about bracing?
The Pedorthic Footwear Association specializes in modifying shoe and orthotic devices for patients with a variety of problems. Pedorthotists frequently work with physical therapists, podiatrists and orthopedic surgeons to assist patients.
The projects presented were completed in the Center for Foot and Ankle Research, a collaboration between the University of Rochester and Ithaca College's Rochester Center. The Mid Foot Arthritis studies were completed by Deborah Nawoczenski, Ph.D., PT and Smita Rao, Ph.D., PT.
