The notes from the strategic listening sessions have been made available to the Ithaca College community for your review and feedback.

I was pleased to see so many members of the IC community turning out at the listening sessions held last few weeks across campus. As you know, participants in the listening session were asked to offer their thoughts on the meaning of "excellence" for Ithaca College, and how we might more fully achieve our vision of becoming "the standard of excellence for residential comprehensive colleges, fostering intellect, creativity, and character in an active, student-centered learning community." My co-listeners took down your ideas and feedback, so that these conversations could be carefully documented.

I would like to give you the opportunity to review the notes from each session and offer any additional feedback you feel would be useful.

To that end, we have created a special feedback section on the Strategic Visioning Process website. Each listening session has its own entry, where the conversation notes have been placed. I encourage all staff, faculty, and students to review these notes, and contribute their own thoughts on what was said by using the "Add a Comment" feature on the website.

We will collect comments from now through December 10. At that point, the listening sessions officially come to a close. The visioning process will move on to the next crucial step: identifying specific priorities for academic excellence. These priorities, which will be drawn from the observations made in the listening sessions, will guide the College's direction over the next three to five years.

Now is your chance to be heard!
