Auction, Charity, and ... Pie?

The annual Student Affairs and Campus Life Auction recently raised $529.25 for Caring and Sharing.

This event, held annually during the week of Thanksgiving break, brings together SACL staff to recycle items from our homes to benefit an on-campus charity. Staff bring in gently used items that they no longer want and offer them to others via the auction.

This year, two auctioneers competed to see who could raise the most money for Caring and Sharing. Our auctioneers, Sybil Conrad and LeBron Rankins, raised the stakes by agreeing to have the losing auctioneer take a pie in the face. Unfortunately, Sybil was our losing auctioneer and bravely took her pie; however, in the spirit of fair play, LeBron agreed to take a pie in the face as well.

We had a great time, contributed to sustainability, and raised a lot of money for Caring and Sharing that we know will be well used in these tough times by members of the IC community.

Thanks to all who contributed items, bought items, or helped with planning this event!
