Denise Nuttall, assistant professor of anthropology, contributed to a brand new compilation on the masters of raga and tala for the Indian Music Today: Amsterdam India Festival publication and CD collection.
For the Masters of Raga and Tala, Featured at the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam India Festival, Het Concertgebouw, PAN Records, 2008) Denise Nuttall wrote "What is Tala?" and liner notes for the tabla solo ("Char Taal Ki Sawari") of renowned tabla player Zakir Hussain.
The artists in the collection all played at the Concertgebouw, one of the finest music halls in the world, located in Amsterdam.
