Student supervisors: do you have students who need to drive College-owned or leased vehicles for your department? Pass along the following information to your student drivers.
Please be sure that you review the student driver handbook yourself so you are aware of what rules the students need to follow. Any procedure not followed could mean suspension of driving privileges for your student drivers.
These are the ONLY classes available for students driving in the summer 2009 months.
You should also encourage students who will be driving at the start of school in the fall to take one of these classes.
Students who need to drive College-owned and leased/rented vehicles are required to take a free, two-hour driver safety class, which will be conducted on campus by the College's insurance company on the dates listed below for the spring 2009 semester. This policy is in the interest of student safety and sound risk management.
Students who will be driving Ithaca College vehicles need to:
Students who take the driver class and pass the test with a score of 80 percent or higher will be eligible to drive College vehicles for one year from date of class completion. After one year, students will only be required to take a brief written test and must score 80 percent or higher.
These will be the ONLY classes available for those who need to drive during the summer. All classes will take place in Textor 101.
