Traditionally, Alumni Weekend has been held after Commencement, when the campus is quiet and nearly empty of students. This year, after careful consideration and knowing it has been extremely successful at other institutions, we made the decision to combine Alumni Weekend with Homecoming, when the campus is buzzing with activity.
This year for the first time we'll be hosting a combined Alumni and Homecoming Weekend that includes IC alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and students on October 9-11. And we hope very much that you'll be part of the planning and celebration.
A detailed schedule of activities is yet to be ironed out, but we're planning to include an academic component to the weekend that showcases the many talents and accomplishments of our students and faculty.
One item sure to be on the schedule is our annual alumni association awards banquet on the evening of Friday, October 9. We'd especially like to introduce these very accomplished award-winners to current students while they're on campus and would welcome your feedback about how we might make that possible.
On Saturday evening, October 10, we'll hold the annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony traditionally held during Homecoming Weekend. We're still in the planning stages for the weekend, so please feel free to e-mail your ideas and suggestions to Marsha Eger (meger@ithaca.edu), executive director of alumni relations, or Brenda Carlisle (bcarlisle@ithaca.edu), event coordinator.
This year's Ithaca College Alumni Association Board of Directors award recipients are:
