Patricia Zimmermann, professor of cinema, photography, and media arts, copresented a lecture and curated screening with Pamela Wintle, senior archivist of the Human Studies Film Archives of the Smithsonian, entitled "Mining the Home Movie."
Zimmermann and Wintle were featured speakers in February in a series exploring gender and home movies at St. Mary's College of Maryland.
Their presentation included a curated selection of historically significant and rare amateur film and home movies from the Human Studies Film Archives of the Smithsonian, Northeast Historic Film of Maine, and the Wisconsin State Historical Society. All three archives collaborated extensively on the project with Zimmerman and Wintle.
