Humanities and Sciences Announces Spring 2009 Educational Grant Initiative Awards

The School of Humanities and Sciences is pleased to announce that this spring, more than $16,000 for 25 different projects was awarded through the H&S Educational Grant Initiative.
The awards provide funding for a wide variety of projects, including:
- students from Chemistry and English presenting papers and posters based on their original research at academic conferences;
- a spring-semester visit from Kirin Nagarkar, renowned Indian novelist, playwright, and critic, who will meet with students across campus;
- students in the politics advanced tutorial with Peyi Soyinka-Airwele, associate professor of politics, visiting the United Nations to meet with leading policymakers; and
- a research study conducted by students working with Bill Hudenko, assistant professor of psychology, on his research team that explores the relationships between autistic children and their caregivers.
The next formal deadline for H&S Educational Grant Initiative proposals will be in late September 2009. Please direct any questions about this program to Stacia Zabusky, assistant dean of H&S, 274-3102.
