The Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen film series will offer a screening of Inside Out. The screening, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Thursday, March 26, at 7:00 p.m. in Textor 102.

The film features the stories of three people. Maria is a middle-aged single woman with three children. Saman is a newly married young man. Arash is an 18-year-old high-school dropout. The one thing they have in common is that all three are transsexuals living in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The film also includes revealing interviews with a Muslim cleric, who explains that the majority of Iran's religious leaders consider transsexuality to be a human rights issue and therefore support gender reassignment surgery.

Sponsored by the Ithaca College Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Education, Outreach, and Services, the film series this year explores sexual orientation and identity through the lens of faith. For a complete schedule visit the Events section of the LGBT Center website (www.ithaca.edu/lgbt) or contact the LGBT Center for a film series postcard.
