Submitted on behalf of Tanya R. Saunders, dean of interdisciplinary and international studies.
On behalf of the Office of International Programs and the Ithaca College London Center, I am pleased to announce the 2009-10 London Faculty Sabbatical recipients.
The review committee has recommended Rebecca Jemian, associate professor of music, for the fall 2009 semester in London. Professor Jemian proposes to teach "an interdisciplinary course in which each student researches some aspect of London that is professionally and personally relevant."
For the spring 2010 London sabbatical, the review committee has recommended Bruce Thompson, professor of physics, and Greg Robbins, associate professor of theater arts. Professor Thompson will teach a course that "asks the student to rediscover the journey that humankind took to find our current understanding of our place in the universe." Professor Robbins will offer the course Georgian Style, covering the period from 1714 to 1837, and take advantage of the many resources in the decorative arts available in London.
I congratulate Professors Jemian, Thompson, and Robbins and thank them for their interest and anticipated contributions to the London Center Program.
