Friday, April 17, is the Day of Silence. Day of Silence is a national youth-run effort using silence to protest the actual silencing of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) people due to harassment, bias, and abuse in schools.
Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Created Equal holding a campus-wide observance on the academic quad, near Free Speech Rock, for students to show their support in ending violence in the LGBT community. Students can join us in silence, even if they only have a few minutes.
Please join us in protest by taking a vow of silence. Help us end discrimination against the LGBT community.
Created Equal is a student organization that designs and implements projects to promote social justice and equality specifically targeting issues of homophobia faced by the LGBTQA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Ally) community.
