Kal Telage presented an experimental research paper, entitled "Classroom Learning: Assessment of Traditional and PowerPoint Presentations" at the World Conference on E-Learning.

Pretest postest learning was measured for a classroom lecture presented orally to one group and with visual enhancements to another. The exact same content was presented to both groups who performed about equally for recall information. However, the group receiving the added visual enhancements showed statistically significant greater associative and integrative learning on posttesting.

The study further identified specific architectural strategies that can be built into PowerPoint slides to facilitate "connecting the dots" in the content. The strategies will be used in a program Kal is developing for training faculty to utilize PowerPoint to enhance classroom learning.
