Submitted on behalf of Provost Kathleen Rountree.
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Carol Henderson as the associate provost for academic policies and administration.
Carol came to Ithaca College in 2007 as programs director in the Division of Graduate and Professional Studies and during the past year served as acting associate provost. Prior to coming to Ithaca College, she held various administrative positions, including vice president for academic affairs at Shoreline Community College in Seattle, Washington.
The duties of the associate provost for academic policies and administration include serving as the institutional liaison to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and the New York State Education Department (NYSED); overseeing the activities of the registrar, institutional research, and the library; coordinating faculty development initiatives; and carrying out a variety of special projects, events, and programs related to academic affairs.
Henderson has already proven herself an exceptional leader through her work with curriculum and policy last year. I am confident she will provide effective leadership that will benefit Ithaca College in the future.
