For those arriving on campus prior to the start of classes, who have the need to drive a college vehicle, there will be a driver safety class offered on Monday, August 24, 2009 from 11 am to 1 pm, location to be announced - watch for Intercom announcement.

Students who need to drive College-owned and leased/rented vehicles are required to take a free, two-hour driver safety class, which will be conducted on campus by the College’s insurance company. This policy is in the interest of student safety and sound risk management.

Students who will be driving Ithaca College vehicles:

-Must be 21 years old at the time they drive, but may take the class before 21

-Must complete the required Driver Information Form (www.ithaca.edu/riskmanagement/forms/mvr.pdf) – approval is a 14-business day process (must be done each year).

-Need to print and familiarize yourself with the Ithaca College Handbook (http://ithaca.edu/riskmanagement/manual/student_handbook.pdf).  You must know the College policies and regulations contained within the Handbook prior to driving College vehicles and transporting passengers.

Please contact the Office of Risk Management at 607-274-3285, email riskmanagement@ithaca.edu or stop by 319 Peggy Ryan Williams Center to sign up for the class.
