2009 Academic Enrichment Services/Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs Annual Colloquium
Thursday, July 30
9:00 a.m., Park Auditorium
THEME: "Bringing Us Together: How Music and Art Combine for the Greater Good"
This year, the AES/OSEMA Pre-Freshman Summer Institute was pleased to welcome Lee Steward as its featured faculty member. Steward was a visiting assistant professor of music this past year.
Professor Steward engaged this year's students in exciting lectures and frank dialogue about renowned composers and artists who share with the world a uniqueness and sound diversity not present in ordinary musical genres. Many classroom participants had never been exposed to such unique music.
HEOP and ALANA students who participated in the summer institute have taken this information and prepared for you, the IC community, a colloquium presentation where they will share their knowledge in multiple ways about composers/arrangers H.T. Burleigh, Igor Stravinsky, John Cage, Kurt Weill, and Aaron Copland.
We hope that you will join us and support this group of fine intellectuals as they begin their undergraduate journey at Ithaca College! As you are able, please arrive shortly before 9:00 a.m. so that you might enjoy refreshments and get comfortably seated prior to the beginning of the presentations.
We hope you can join us!
