For the fifth straight year, Ithaca College is ranked at number seven among master’s universities in the north region by U.S. News and World Report. And for the second year in a row, Ithaca ranks sixth in that category in the "great schools, great prices" listing, based on offering a quality education at a reasonable cost.
Ithaca is the highest-ranked school in its category in New York State. This is the 15 straight year that the college has been ranked in the top 10.
"We made substantial efforts this past year to hold down the rate of tuition increase while making a significant commitment to financial aid, so it is especially gratifying to be recognized for offering both a quality educational experience and great value for our students," says President Tom Rochon.
In its just-released "America's Best Colleges" issue, U.S. News and World Report lists Ithaca College in the "best master's universities by region" category, which includes colleges and universities that award a full range of undergraduate and master's degrees but offer few, if any, doctoral programs. It is not a ranking of an institution's master's degree programs.
The rankings for the colleges and universities in Ithaca's category are based on peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, and alumni giving. A total of 572 colleges and universities are included in this category, ranked within four geographic regions: north, south, midwest, and west.
