Faculty and staff: If you haven’t already heard, Alumni Weekend and Homecoming have been combined into one huge celebration. The entire campus community is invited, and we hope you can make it to some of the festivities.

"Why," you ask, "should I come to campus for Alumni and Homecoming Weekend when I’m already working here all week?”" OK, here's why:

 ·  Faculty and staff get a free ticket to the Alumni and Homecoming picnic (Saturday, October 10, 11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.). It's being held in the field behind Alumni Hall this year, so feel free to wave to people as they drive up Route 96B for the game. Great children's activities too, so there’s lots of fun for kids of all ages!

·  Wine tasting: Cayuga Wine Trail Expo and wines of Italy! Our very own Mark Cordano, interim dean of the School of Business, will share some terrific information about Italian wines. And there’ll be samples! (Faculty, staff, and alumni only)

·  The Golden Doorknob films. These are short films (with a long history) by students and alumni with the theme "death by doorknob." Need we say more?

·  The Homecoming football game. Come cheer on the Bombers and watch them beat St. John Fisher!

·  The Big Bash -- a huge party on Saturday night. Rock on to '70s music by alumni rock band Bombermania, and catch original tunes by IC's student indie-pop band Caution Children. Ithacappella, IC Comedy Club, and ICircus will be there too!

You really don't want to miss this! There's going to be tons more going on. Check out the full schedule for details about these events and think about bringing your family.

In the meantime, get your free picnic ticket (faculty and staff) and RSVP for other great fun at https://www.ithaca.edu/makeityours. We'll keep posting more alluring tidbits about the weekend right here on Intercom. Stay tuned ...
