The College’s web development team in Information Technology Services and the web marketing team in the Office of Marketing Communications are pleased to announce updates to existing features in the Web Profile Manager (WPM) in the 1.5.1 release.
Sorting Option Added to Manage Faculty Listing Feature
Many department sites use the Manage Faculty Listing feature to include individuals who may not be officially “assigned” to the department but nevertheless contribute to its curriculum. The automatic information used for these individuals oftentimes sorted them in confusing patterns. The WPM 1.5.1 release includes a sorting option for the list that allows users to highlight the names of certain individuals (e.g., directors, chairs) by reordering the list of names.
If you manage a faculty listing for your academic department, you may want to check your current list and consider resorting with the new option.
Other New Options
The WPM 1.5.1 release also includes a change that adds live links to URLs when entered into comments on a WPM site’s news stories or blogs. Additionally, the Documents feature now allows drag-and-drop sorting for items in the document list. This is particularly useful for WPM sites with long lists of documents.
