Ithaca College Celebrates Veterans Day November 10, 2009

The seventh annual Veterans Day Celebration will be held at noon on Tuesday, November 10th in Ford Auditorium in the Whalen Center for Music. Members of the Ithaca College community are encouraged to join in the college’s salute to those who serve. 

Carl Sgrecci, Vice President for Finance & Administration, will provide a welcome for the ceremony. The IC Brass Choir, conducted by Keith Kaiser and IC Voices, conducted by Susan Avery, will perform.

The event is free and open to members of the campus community and the greater Ithaca area.   The celebration will conclude by 1:00 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation that will be used in making care packages to send to troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Suggested items for donation: Beanie Babies, paperback books, boot socks, foot powder, playing cards, dice, dominoes, Dunkin Donuts coffee, nuts, sunflower seeds.  For more information go to http://www.give2thetroops.org/items.htm
