Sustainability Café on October 27 looks at energy and environmental policy reform challenges

On Tuesday, October 27, at 4:00p.m. in Center for Natural Sciences Room 112, the Sustainability Café will examine “An inhospitable climate: The political challenges to reforming America's energy and environmental policy”, presented by political reporter Kate Sheppard.

Kate Sheppard ’06 has parlayed her dual degrees in journalism and politics into a career covering energy and environmental politics from Washington, D.C. for Mother Jones. She previously wrote for Grist and The American Prospect, and her work has also been featured in the WashingtonPost.com, The Guardian, The Center for Public Integrity, The Washington Independent, Washington Spectator, Who Runs Gov, In These Times and other publications. Sheppard honed her sharp-edged reporting skills as the editor-in-chief of Buzzsaw and a columnist for The Ithacan.

This Café is being held in conjunction with the Environmental Seminar.

"Teachable edibles" -- seasonal, organic, and/or local foods -- for the fall 2009 Sustainability Café series are being supported by Ithaca College Dining Services. Please bring your reusable mug and fill up at the drinking fountain or provide your beverage of choice.
