H&S Students and Faculty Receive H&S Educational Grant Initiative Awards

The School of Humanities and Sciences is pleased to announce that this fall, more than $19,000 for 23 different projects was awarded through the H&S Educational Grant Initiative.
The awards provide funding for a wide variety of projects, including:
- students from Physics and Psychology presenting papers and posters based on their original research at academic conferences;
- a campus residency by playwright Kenny Finkle who will meet with students in directing and costuming classes in the Department of Theatre Arts and run a 24-hour playwriting festival;
- a senior biochemistry student’s honors research project on cholesterol trafficking; and
- hands-on laboratory modules and guest lectures in the biology course “Plants, People, and Food.”
The next formal deadline for H&S Educational Grant Initiative proposals is February 19, 2010. Please direct any questions about this program to Stacia Zabusky, Assistant Dean of H&S, 274-3102.
