The Campus Community is hearing the call for the United Way Campaign - we are at 45% of our institutional goal! This is a tremendous start with still a ways to go. By now, everyone should have received their pledge card which identifies how you can give to the United Way. Sally and I have been visiting with folks around campus and pointing out the many ways that the United Way agencies can touch our lives. Over 40 different agencies receive support through the United Way. This year 100% of all of our contributions go directly to their work (administrative costs have been covered by the Corporate Cornerstone Partners - IC is one).
If everyone who works at IC just gave a little something through payroll deduction - we would exceed our goal! Remember that there are prizes through a drawing (iPods) for first time givers, continued supporters, and those who increase their gift. A department that has over 50% of their folks contribute will go into a drawing for a lunch to be delivered to your area. This is a great start - now we need to dig a little deeper. Don't forget that you can support our own students through the Stone Soup Philanthropy Corps (you can write them in on your pledge card).
