President Obama has asked all of us to help in renewing America's promise. You, as future educators, are at the center of President Obama's message of hope. What better place to answer the President's call than participating in an Urban Education Program in Washington, D.C.

Come to an information session on November 5, 2009, at 6:00 p.m. in room G69 of the  Peggy Ryan Williams Center and find out how you can complete required education coursework and early field requirements in an urban setting.

The Urban Education Program in concert with the Ithaca in Washington, DC Program  will give you an advantage in today's competitive job market. Education students will have an internship in a school or community based organization. Students will also take Social and Cultural Foundations of Education, a required course in the teacher education sequence. Both the course and internship fulfill the requirements for a foundation course and early field experience. You can do the urban education program during spring 2010 or summer 2010.

Washington, D.C. is a rich, warm, vibrant, historical, cultural and international city. According to Kiplinger Magazine for finance and business, Washington, D.C. is rated #1, as the best city for young professionals because of its cornucopia of opportunities inside and outside of government.

Future educators from all majors and graduate students are invited to an information session on November 5, 2009, at 6pm, in Room G69, Peggy R. Williams Center. Come and learn about the value of getting an urban education experience.
