The Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs is excited to offer you a preview of 2010's MLK celebration activities.  As this year, the MLK holiday falls outside of the regular Academic Calendar, we will be hosting a week's worth of exciting activities from January 25th through January 30th.
The planning committee is looking for student and community organizations to participate in our first "Take a Stand: Social Justice Fair," to be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 11am-2pm. We are looking for organizations with a focus on social justice in any area. This is an opportunity to introduce your organization to others and to build interest, or even gain membership. If you are interested, please e-mail jrawlins@ithaca.edu and let us know your organization's name, a description, and contact information.
We are also looking for talented students and student organizations to participate in the MLK Tribute Showcase, which will be on Friday, January 29, 2010.  We are looking for singers, dancers, actors/actresses, spoken word artists, gifted speakers, and any other creative talent to pay tribute to the life and legacy of Dr. King.  If you or your organization are interested, please e-mail jrawlins@ithaca.edu.
The deadline to express interest in either event is December 16, 2009.   For more information, please contact John Rawlins III in the Office of Student Engagement & Multicultural Affairs at jrawlins@ithaca.edu or at 607-274-1692.
