The IC Vocal Jazz Ensemble is auditioning one alto position for Spring 2010. To audition, please prepare a jazz or pop standard of your choice. Auditions will be heard in the Vocal Jazz Ensemble rehearsal Monday, February 1 at 6:00 PM in Beeler rehearsal room in the Whalen Center.
You will sing your prepared piece, then you will sightread a passage from a four-part song with other members of the ensemble. You will also be asked to improvise over a standard progression (blues, "rhythm changes", or over the harmony of a song of your choice). Please bring music for your song!
The group also has openings for a guitarist and pianist. If interested, please come to the same audition (2/1 @ 6PM in Beeler). You will be asked to sightread and play a tune of your choice to demonstrate improvisation skills.
