Commemorate the rich history of African Americans in the United States with these events hosted by African-Latino Society (ALS).

Kumba Interest Meeting
Tuesday, February 9, noon
ALS Room

Kumba is an African-based performing arts group that is coming back from a brief hiatus on Ithaca's campus. Come out for more information on how to get involved!

Flag-Raising Ceremony
Wednesday, February 10, noon
In front of Campus Center

See the official raising of the Pan-African flag to symbolize the beginning of Black History Month.

"Coming to America Part 1: A Soulful Night"
Saturday, February 13, 3:00 p.m.

Enjoy soul food made by the ALS executive board while we hold a discussion based on The Souls of Black Folk by W.E.B. Dubois. ALS Bigs and Littles are also encouraged to bring food! The night will end with a viewing Coming to America, the movie starring Eddie Murphy.

"A Campaign for the Senses: An Exploration of Your Exploitation"
Tuesday and Thursday, February 16 and 18, noon
IC Square, Campus Center

A pitch for unity and togetherness on Ithaca College's campus using relevant information and symbolism.
