The Ithaca College Students for a Just Peace have organized an information session and discussion about the current situation in the city of Hebron in the West Bank on February 23 in Friends 209 from 12:05 to 1:15pm.
IC student Elise Springuel, who recently visited Hebron, explains, “Hebron is the largest city in the West Bank and is home to a large Jewish settler population. The information session will include video clips about the violence and conflicts that occur there and the closing of Shuhada Street.” There will also be first-hand accounts from current and former Ithaca College students who have spent time in the city.
This session is part of an international day of solidarity to raise awareness about the situation in Hebron and to honor those killed in the massacre that occurred there on February 25, 1994. There will be a similar information session on Thursday, February 25th in the Tompkins County Workers Center on the Ithaca Commons at 7:00 PM.
