On Wednesday, March 10 at 7pm faculty vocalists Deborah Montgomery and Brad Hougham, along with pianist Charis Dimaras, will present the first part of Hugo Wolf's "Italiensches Liederbuch."
Deborah Montgomery has performed with Virginia Opera, C. W. Post Summer Opera Festival, Ithaca Opera, Syracuse Symphony, North Carolina Symphony, Greensboro Orchestra, Cayuga Chamber Orchestra. She has won the Cleveland Art Song Competition and performed in Alice Tully Hall, and at Carnegie Recital Hall in Mendelssohn’s Elijah.
Brad Hougham joined the IC faculty in 2006. He has performed many lead roles in opera as well as being a member of the Metropolitan Opera Chorus for eight seasons. He has appeared as a soloist in Avery Fisher Hall, Merkin Hall, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Since coming to Ithaca in 1999, Charis Dimaras has always kept a very busy performing schedule on and off campus. He has performed at Merkin Hall with soprano Deborah Lifton, at Athens, Greece’s MEGARON Concert Hall for a solo recital of works by Dukas, Messiaen and Brahms, as well as the Artistic Direction of a new festival of classical music in the town of Sparta/Greece, in which he also performed - both as pianist and conductor - works by Franz Schubert, Edward Elgar and George Tsontakis.
