I am pleased to announce the visit of the third finalist for the position of Dean of the Park School of Communications.
Professor Fritz (Frank) Joseph Messere will visit campus on March 11-12. Professor Messere currently serves as Interim Dean of the School of Communication, Media and the Arts at SUNY Oswego, and is Professor of Broadcasting and Telecommunications. Prior to assuming that position in 2008, he served at SUNY Oswego as Department Chair of the Communication Studies Department. He served as a visiting Associate Professor at Cornell in 2001-2002, and at Ithaca College in 1996-1997. He is the author of six books, numerous book chapters, articles, and essays, and has presented papers and panel presentations in various venues including the National Communication Association Annual Convention and the Broadcast Education Association Annual Convention. He will present an open session on “The Future of Communications Education” on Thursday, March 11 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in Clark Lounge, which is open to the entire campus community, and will be followed by a reception.
