The Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival in the Division of Interdisciplinary and Internatiol Studies was named a featured organization by the National
Alliance of Media Arts and Culture (NAMAC).
FLEFF was recognized for its innovations in interdisciplinary multiarts programming, its leveraging of partnerships in the community as well as nationally and internationally, and its initiatives in advancing and interrogating digitality including multimedia live music performances, online art exhibitions, alternate reality games and social media projects.
NAMAC is the largest professional organization for non profit media arts organizations, museums, film festivals, university based media organizations, foundations, and youth media.
During the 2009-2010 academic year, FLEFF has initiated a series of on-going online projects exploring the theme of Open Space, including digital art exhibitions, blogs from around the globe, and an alternate reality game. Screenings and readings have also been programmed throughout the year on campus and downtown.
