WATER = LIFE ONLINE SUMMER COURSE

03/22/10

Contributed by Mara Alper

If you like water in any way, shape or form, here is a class for you. It is offered online this summer, so you can do it any time of the day from anywhere with a high speed internet connection. Students who took it last summer enjoyed it very much because it captured their imaginations and opened their eyes to the world of water.

WATER = LIFE ONLINE SUMMER COURSE (May 17 - 28 session)

In this online class, we learn via internet readings, videos, podcasts, guest lecturers and discussions that link students and experts. The course will make you deeply aware of water as an essential element for all life as it explores questions such as: Why is water an important part of many religious rituals?  Why is water considered 'Blue Gold'? What is your water footprint? Does water have memory? We will use perspectives from the arts, humanities and sciences, and also focus on the global politics of water and sustainability. It is an asynchronous class that can be done from anywhere with high speed online access.
