Come beat the Monday blues and join SAB Music for its second awesome concert of the semester TONIGHT, MONDAY APRIL 5th featuring Ithaca's own JIMKATA and NYC's THE GAY BLADES!
Doors open at 7:30 PM!
Jimkata combines hair-raising rock and roll with an industrial touch of synthesizers, sampling, and electronic drums. Their sound is a reminder of the modern lengths that a fourtet can reach without leaving their rock roots. While inspired by the world of improvisational and progressive music, Jimkata focuses on song structure, textures, layers and vibrant world conscious lyrics.

The Gay Blades have their origins in the cutthroat New Brunswick indie-rock scene. Musically, Puppy Mills and Clark Westfield don’t bother with tricky changes or unconventional melodies; they’re traditionalists, and the thrill of a song like “Robots Can *censored* Your Shit Up” is listening to the majestic execution of a time-tested rock formula. The Gay Blades have a sure hand with relative minor chords, and they’ve already mastered the trick of soaring into high held notes on the choruses. In fact, the more the Blades indulge in classicism, the more effective they are – the best thing here is probably “Compliments Can Kill,” an unabashed and rafter-raising arena-rocker.
