April is LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) Awareness Month on college campuses.

The Center for LGBT Education, Outreach, and Services, in collaboration with a variety of campus student groups, departments, offices, and community partners, will host events and learning opportunities focusing on LGBT themes throughout the month.

This year there are many opportunities to learn about and celebrate the unique contributions and experiences of LGBT and Allied people. Upcoming highlights include guest speakers, film screenings, facilitated discussions, workshops, art displays, and much more.

A schedule is available on the LGBT Center website, and will also be published in the April 8 issue of the Ithacan. Additional events are being planned and added as the observance approaches.

Contact Lis Maurer, LGBT coordinator, for a complete events listing or with any questions (lmaurer@ithaca.edu).  Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Lis Maurer at lmaurer@ithaca.edu or 607-274-7394. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
