Ithaca College Theatre is proud to join the campus groups the have banded together to create IC HAITI Relief Fund.  IC Theatre is giving the community an opportunity to donate at performances of “Floyd Collins. ”

Continuous efforts are critical in order to make a difference in the lives of Haitians following the devastating earthquake the struck the island earlier this year. Algezera said, “It will take 1,000 trucks to clear the rubble from Haiti, and that’s JUST the rubble, it will takes years and thousands of dollars to get rid of all the devastation.” IC HAITI Relief seeks to raise awareness of conditions in Haiti and to create opportunities for students on campus to take initiative.

The campus groups involved in IC Haiti Relief Fund are: Hillel, Brothers for Brothers, Caribbean Student Association, IC Haiti Relief Efforts, IC Unbound, OSEMA, and many others. Each group has held their own fundraisers to pitch in. There has been a dodge ball tournament, a meal sign out and cultural nights to raise money. The group also held a teach-in to educate people about the disasters facing Haiti and how they can help.

Representatives of IC HAITI Relief will be at performances of “Floyd Collins,” accepting donations and teaching about how the community can help. IC Theatre is asking the community to visit the concessions bar at Dillingham Center to donate and learn more.

Performances for “Floyd Collins” will be at 8 p.m. on April 6, 7, and 8, with 2 p.m. matinees on April 4 and 10. All performances will be held in the Clark Theater in Dillingham Center.
