At its meeting on March 23rd, the Ithaca CSD Board of Education approved a contract with School Leadership, LLC to assist it in a search for a new superintendent of schools to replace Dr. Judith Pastel when she retires from the district in December. To begin the process, the Board has asked School Leadership, LLC to meet with a variety of community, parent/caregiver, staff groups and individuals to solicit their input on the specifications the Board should use in its search. In addition to these focus group meetings, there will be an opportunity to attend three open community meetings as follows:

April 19, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.—Women’s Community Building
April 20, 2010 at 6:00 p.m.—Caroline Elementary School
April 20, 2010 at 6:00 p.m.—Enfield Elementary School

Persons unable to attend any of these meetings can provide input by responding to an online survey by April 23, 2010. The survey can be reached through a link on the school district web site (www.icsd.k12.ny.us). You may also call a hotline 607-882-9090 to provide voicemail input.

The Board expects to begin the search process by the end of April, after reviewing the specifications.
