ITHACA COLLEGE Recording Services, The Sound Recording Technology Program, and the School Of Music welcome IC Alum; Andrew Mendelson, from Nashville's Georgetown Masters, to present a seminar on this final, vital, and sometimes mysterious step in music and video production.

Andrew Mendelson is the owner and Chief Mastering Engineer of the legendary Georgetown Masters in Nashville, Tennessee. Andrew attended Ithaca College for 4 ½ years earning a double major; first designing his own planned studies degree in Music Recording, and additionally in Telecommunications / Management from the School of Communications. Following a three-year stint at the highly regarded Telarc Records, Mendelson went to Nashville to apprentice under Georgetown Masters’ storied co-founder Denny Purcell. Andrew took over as Chief Engineer in 2002 and eventually acquired the company in 2004.
Andrew’s clientele is as diverse as it is impressive. He has mastered numerous #1, Grammy winning, and gold and platinum projects by artists including: The Rolling Stones, Lady Antebellum, The White Stripes, The Dead Weather, Kings of Leon, 3 Doors Down, Mariah Carrey, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osborne, Kenney Chesney, Gretchen Wilson, Big and Rich, Alabama, Ricky Skaggs, Emmylou Harris, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. His work has already produced many Billboard 200 #1 albums, Hot 100 #1 singles and more than 50 Grammy nominations. In addition to his traditional mastering work for CD release, Andrew works extensively on stereo and surround sound projects for DVD and Television.
Andrew will also illustrate his techniques and offer advice on some of this semester's student projects form the Advanced Mixing Techniques course!
