When values collide...
This Wednesday, the Asian Culture Club will explore the struggles, hardships, and identity issues LGBTQ Asian Americans face today. With colliding traditions and values, this event seeks to help all attendees understand their sexual/gender identities better.
Wednesday, April 14 @ 7pm @ Williams 211
We'll watch clips from Ethan Mao, a film about an Asian American boy who opens up about his gay identity to his parents to find that his parents would rather disown him than to accept him as their gay child.
This is part of Focus Asia Month, hosted by the Asian Culture Club. Special Thanks to: Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs, Diversity Awareness Committee, Department of Anthropology, School of Humanities and Sciences, Center for the Study of Culture Race and Ethnicity, and the Division for Interdisciplinary and International Studies.
