About the Biology Honors Program

When a student is accepted into the honors program, he or she designs the yearlong honors project in consultation with the faculty sponsor. They must write up a proposal describing this project, which is then submitted to the honors committee. The honors committee monitors the progress of the project and the academic performance of the student.

The student must write a paper summarizing their research and give an oral presentation to the department at the end of the second semester of the project. The honors committee will make the determination whether or not to grant honors in biology.
