I wish to share with you the news that Marsha Eger '70, director of the President's Associates, will be leaving Ithaca College to pursue a master's degree in ritual chant and song at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick
With her exquisite voice, familiar to many of us, and her extensive background in music and meditation, Marsha has created a magnificent opportunity to expand this element of her rich and varied interests through the program at the Irish World Academy.
Marsha joined the Division of Institutional Advancement in 2004 as director of the Ithaca Fund, and came to us with 22 years of experience in communications and development. In October 2006, with the restructuring of IA and the official launch of the Campaign for Ithaca College: Making a World of Difference, Marsha was promoted to executive director of alumni programs. This was a dual role: she was directly responsible for the alumni relations and the annual fund programs.
In July 2009, Marsha's experience with trustees, alumni board members, parents, and alumni made her the right person to strengthen the President's Associates program, a critical area of fund-raising for IC, and she was named director of the President's Associates.
Marsha's contributions to Ithaca College are many and deeply valued. Her thoughtfulness, kindness, and availability as a colleague are unparalleled.
Please help us bid farewell to Marsha as she takes this exciting step across the Atlantic at a reception in Alumni Hall on Thursday, May 6, at 2:30 p.m. Her last day in the office will be Friday, May 14.
