The Center for Faculty Excellence, the Faculty Development Committee, and the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is pleased to announce the program for the upcoming Spring Faculty Conference.

On Tuesday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., five faculty will present work funded over the past year by the Center for Faculty Research and Development, the Summer Research Grant Program, and the Instructional Development Fund.  Their work is representative of the wide range of scholarship undertaken by our faculty at Ithaca College.

Each presentation will represent one of the five types of scholarship discussed in our faculty handbook:

The Scholarship of Discovery:  Matthew Klemm, Assistant Professor, Department of History, "Medical Anthropology in the Late Middle Ages."  (approximately 9:15 a.m.)

The Scholarship of Application:  Marie Sanford, Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, "Adding Meaningful Cultural-Experiential Learning into the Academic Classroom."  (approximately 9:45 a.m.)

The Scholarship of Integration:  Kati Lustyik, Assistant Professor, Department of Television and Radio, "The Business of Children's Television in the 21st Century."  (approximately 10:15 a.m.)

The Scholarship of Teaching:  Elizabeth Bleicher, Assistant Professor, Department of English, "The Impact of an Urban Education Immersion Program on English Education Students."  (approximately 10:45 a.m.)

The Scholarship of Creative Endeavor:  Richard Faria, Associate Professor, Department of Performance Studies, "A Study of Traditional Turkish G. Clarinet Performance in Istanbul, Turkey."  (approximately 11:15 a.m.)

We look forward to your joining us for these presentations in Klingenstein Lounge in the Campus Center on Tuesday, May 18.  Refreshments will be available at 8:30 a.m. and the conference itself will commence at 9 a.m.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Laurie Wasik in the Office of the Provost. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
