A team of four sport management majors – Jon Gregory ’10, Greg Lewinter ’11, Robb Pearson ’11, and Jason Young ’12 – traveled to the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill to participate in a case study competition April 22-24, 2010. Competing against teams from Coastal Carolina University, Duquesne University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Loras College, Nebraska-Wesleyan University, Nichols College, St. Leo University, and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Ithaca placed second after two days of intense competition.
The CSRI Case Study Competition was made up of three phases. The first phase involved distributing the case to all teams electronically. Each team had ten days to do their research and write their case brief on their home campuses. The second phase involved presenting a SWOT analysis and recommendation for action to a panel of three judges who evaluated each team. The third phase, for those who made the cut, required teams remaining in the competition to respond to a second question related to the case. The team presented again in front of a panel of judges.
Congratulations to Jon, Greg, Robb, and Jason for doing such a fine job in representing themselves and Ithaca College so well in North Carolina.
