Kaitlyn Alcorn (`07) wins national Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship

The Ithaca College chapter of Phi Kappa Phi is proud to announce that one of its alumni, Kaitlyn Alcorn (`07), was recently awarded the Marjorie Schock Phi Kappa Phi National Fellowship. This $5,000 fellowship recognizes students with outstanding academic and extracurricular performance as they enter their first year of full-time graduate or professional study. As the nominee representing Ithaca College, Kaitlyn competed with top students across the United States.

While at Ithaca College, Kaitlyn completed her Bachelor of Music as a music performance major.  Her accomplishments in music include acting as the Principal Clarinetist for the Symphonic Band and Summer Graduate Band, and participating in the Northeast Wind Symposium and the Ithaca College Klezmorim. Her off-campus activities included working as a volunteer for the Emergency Department at Cayuga Medical Center and the SPCA. A member of the Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Kappa Lamba honor societies, Kaitlyn graduated Magna Cum Laude and entered a Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Certificate program at Johns Hopkins University and will begin medical school next fall.
