In the United States, Carnival is traditionally a festive season which occurs immediately before Lent; the main events are usually during February. Carnival typically involves a public celebration or parade combining some elements of a circus, mask and public street party. People often dress up or masquerade during the celebrations, which mark an overturning of daily life.
Well, it's not February, (we're sure folks won't mind the change in month ... it's COLD in Upstate NY!) but we've all worked extremely hard, and this event is designed to provide an opportunity to kick-back, relax, have some fun with colleagues, and initiate summer for the well-deserving employees of Ithaca College. The Office of Human Resources and Staff Council are excited to serve as hosts as we all celebrate a successful year!
As always, there will be loads of carnival food (and, Yes, CLAMS), GAMES, music, fanfare and the opportunity to throw your name into the drawing for five rather NICE door prizes (also everyone attending will receive a sustainable gift) - So, draw a smiley face on your calendar for May 27th - and come dressed to PARTY!
